An essential Trivia on Sanjay Mehrotra:

Sanjay, the CEO of Micron, was born on June 27, 1958, at the age of 63. Sangeeta Mehrotra is his wife. Malika Mehrotra and Mahncy Mehrotra are their two children. Mehrotra learnt perseverance from his father, who, despite their financial difficulties, was eager to send his son overseas for an undergraduate degree.

Sanjay, who was only 18 years old at the time and had accomplished his high school diploma in India, applied to the United States in order to achieve his father's goal. His application was turned down, however, because American colleges demanded 12 years of high school schooling. To achieve this requirement, he enrolled in an Indian institution and resubmitted his candidacy to the United States at the end of his second year. UC Berkeley had chosen him this time. He was denied a visa since he was under the age of 18. Regardless of the fact that his son's visa was rejected for the third time by the US consulate, his father persisted. He tracked down the embassy, spoke with him for twenty minutes, and eventually secured Sanjay's US visa.

Apart from that, Mehrotra met his first business endeavour, SanDisk's cofounder Eli Harari, at Intel, where he started his career. The company's three cofounders were all immigrants. Harari is Israeli, Jack Yuan is Taiwanese, and Mehrotra is Indian.
